The USS Hyman DD-732 Assn. Inc. was organized in 1949 and have had many reunions. The reason I am writing is that we have a monument at New Castle, Indiana with the names of those who were killed aboard our ship on April 6, 1945 and also the five who were lost at sea during the Korean War. It is located in Henry County Memorial Park.

Each year, on April 6, we travel to New Castle from all parts of the U.S. for a memorial service to honor the 12 men who were killed at the battle of Okinawa when a kamikaze hit our deck and those

lost at sea. We were fortunate in finding four of the 12 family members who have joined us in honoring their relative.

The reason for this update is that Bob Moldenhauer and his wife Marie have resigned the position of Sec/treas several years ago after doing more than their share of work for the Association.

We have also located the family of a fourth member, William Craig who was killed on April 6, 1945 and would like you to make the notation, Family Located along side of his name.

We have tried to find the other families but have not been successful. We would like to post this on the USS Hyman site so that the relatives of those who were killed or lost will know their loved ones are so honored. We can send you the names and also a photo of the monument.

Perhaps a grandchild looking for the ship his granddad served on will see this information and relate it to the rest of the family. If you need any further information, please let me know.

Thank you for your time.
