The E-Mail:

12/8/06:

Hello Mark,

My mother is 82 years old. Her name is Joan Hamner. This ship was named after her brother, Henry Rawlings Hamner, but every one called him "Pete." I have printed off as much as I could for her and she will be thrilled to see this web site.

Do you know the name of the first Captain of the Hamner? I am thinking it would be great if he had a web site so she might communicate with him, if at all possible.

Thanks,

Bill Tuthill
