We are seeking information on the USS Richard P. Leary and her crews. Files and photos may be E-mailed to us and we will incorporate them into these pages.
The E-mail: 10/26/05: From: Angela Norton My dad (USNR Lt. Eugene Francis Harrington) served in the Pacific on the Leary as one of its Gunnery Officers during WWII, from the shakedown cruise Spring 1944, thru action at Suriago Strait, Lingayen Gulf, Okinawa, Aleutians, back to Derstroyer Base San Diego for inactivation 1945. He & my mom made lifelong friends among the ship’s officers: Johnny Newland, Tacoma; Tom Hall, Lake Charles, LA. Also among the officers were Bill Seidman, Grand Rapids (in civilian life went on to serve US govt in various economic advisory capacities), Lt. N.V. Karp, Dr. Q.N. Harer, Lt. I. Levy, & Lt. R.E. Gardner. I have some pics.
Dear Mark Here is a photo of Charles James Taylor and Thomas G. Wren. Both served on the USS Richard P. Leary (DD 664) from 1943 to 1945.
