Authorized: August 25, 1966 Builder: Avondale Shipyards Laid Down: November 13, 1969 Launched: August 29, 1970 Commissioned: September 18, 1971 Decommissioned: May 15, 1992 Fate: To Taiwan April 29, 1998, re-named Ning Yang [FF-938]; still in service as of 2005.

We are seeking information on the USS Aylwin and her crews. Files and photos may be E-mailed to us and we will incorporate them into this page. When enough information has been assembled we will then build the ship her own section.

DOL now has an associate webmaster handling all pages and E-mails concerning the Knox class Frigates. His name is Mark Roberts

EXTENDING AN OPEN INVITATION TO ATTEND AYLWIN'S CREW REUNION.

Although coordination of this once in a lifetime event is being spearheaded by crewmen who served under CMDR J. Eyer or CMDR J.
