Subject: USS SAMPSON (DDG 10) Hello Mark, I served aboard the USS TIDEWATER (AD 31), 1968-1971. We changed a screw on the Sampson in 1967 while in Souda Bay, Crete. Attached is a photo of the change out. Best regards,
Bob HALL
Subject: USS Sampson DDG 10 Mark, I served aboard the Sampson during Desert Storm as an EW2. I did a search yesterday at the Fire Department on her and came across lot of info. I saw that the patch I designed during the cruise had been made. Is there anyone you can get me in contact with that might know where I can obtain a patch? Maybe who sent the pic of the patch in to you? When we decommissioned her the patch was not made yet. I know it has been over 10 years since, but I would like to track a patch down. I believe I still have the original designs of that patch and will look through my Sampson things today. I have also fixed up the 2 patches on that link to be a little more readable if you would like to reload them. Please let me know either way on this. Thanks and stay safe....Mark
