03/09/06:

My name is Ron Tribble and I have an aging Uncle who served on the USS Gregory.

I have the utmost respect for all those in the military and would like any info anyone may have on a Charles Palmer. I do not have exact service dates but do know he was on the Gregory on April 8, 1945 and on that day near Okinawa the Gregory was hit by a kamakazie. If there is a historical book available about the service of the Gregory please let me know.

For my part, I'd like to thank every veteran past and present and in particuar those of our greatest generation....our WWII veterans, without taking anything away from veterans of other wars.

Thank you for any help and God Bless you All!

Hi Mark,

I served on the Gregory from 3/61 - 8/62. Did you know that we had a Commodores Cabin and carried the flag for a Commodore. I didnt see that on the information.

I have a few stories and a few photos along with all Gregory documents I ever received while serving on her.

Raedon Ron Gelderman

Many Thanks to NavSource
