USS Porter
DD-800
(Fletcher Class)
| The Torpedo
gang has been together since a month or so before commissioning. One of their first duties
was to trek to San Diego. Amid a lack of dough and an abundance of brew they refreshed
their minds by day and themselves by night. After learning how to make liberties on two dollars, they returned to the rest of the group and we all commissioned the PORTER. After a devastating campaign in Puget Sound they transferred their talents to San Diego. Well, what do you know, back to where they could make a liberty on two dollars. Again they had their good duty except that every now and then they had to fire the torpedoes. They're still blaming combat for trying to torpedo a blimp instead of a surface ship. |
