To: All Officers and Men
Congratulatory Dispatch, Commander Naval Forces Far-East
Pass to the officers and men of the Seventh Fleet -

"Your straight shooting in the past 12 days will not soon be forgotten by the enemy. You knocked him off anchor Hill, ripped up his front lines and supply routes and added another chapter to the point that the way of the aggressor is hard" - Admiral Briscoe, COMNAVFE, 19 June, 1953.

Commander Slonim: The effectiveness of your performance of duty was best expressed by the Shore Fire Control Spotter assigned on 18 June, 1953 -

"Irwin you have done more than guns your size should. All of your shots were right where I wanted them within the space of a few yards. You have done the best shooting I have observed in Wonsan."
