Attached please find two pictures of the John W. Thomason. One of the pictures is of the ship under the Golden Gate Bridge. Because I know my dad, Harvey H. Cody, Jr. (1926-1984), was the radio operator ("Sparky") on the shake down crew of the J.W. Thomason, I'm fairly confident that the attached is a picture of the ship's shake down crew. Harvey Cody is the third man from the left in the second row.

I thank my sister, Candy Cody, for maintaining the family archive from which these pictures were selected, and thank you for making these pictures available on the web.

There are a bunch of photos in the following website (www.wakkanaiwasmyhome.citymax.com), which may interest someone. These were taken during the summer of 1963, when USS John W. Thomason paid a port call to Wakkanai, Japan, in northern Hokkaido.
