Sir: I just found this website and I'm overcome with excitement. My father was on board the Bore when she was hit by a Kamazie on Aug. 9th 1945. I myself have been to several reunions with my dad. I especially remember the one in RI where we spend a day on the Borie in 1963. Dad has a large collection of pictures. I attached just two as requested. The burial at sea picture after they were hit is his most treasured one. I just told him yesterday I wanted to scan all of the pictures from the album and burn them onto a CD. For my sons can pass them on. I have a son in the Navy at present. Also one in the Air Force.

Dad is now 77. He was only 19 when the Borie was hit. I'm very proud of my father and his shipmates for their unselfish service to our country. Hearing the stories over the years, I'm amazed that most of the crew were so young. And endured so much.

As you are putting together this website. My fathers collections of pictures, articles, and official Naval documents on the Borie might be very useful to you. Any further information you would like, please feel free to e-mail me.

Thanks again for the work your doing on this website. It's a tribute to American Heroes.

Sincerely,

James Kukorlo
