I've just finished scanning all the things belonging to Carl E. Powers of Kalamazoo, MI. He was my mother-in-law's stepfather; I only knew him for the last 6 years (he passed Nov. 25, 2005) but we inherited all his artifacts from WWII and Korea. I have enclosed a picture of Carl in uniform, and a picture of the Mighty K. On the back of the ship's photo there is a stamp that says "NOT FOR PUBLICATION Released to the ship's crew by public relations office..." I don't know if you can use it, but I know she has been laid to rest, so you at least have my permission to post both photos if you like. (I don't know the publication rules in that situation.)
