The E-Mail:

My deceased father was a pharmacists mate (Navy medic) on the U.S.S. Thatcher. Growing up I recall him mentioning consistently how his ship was hit by Kamikazi.

I'm on the hunt to learn more about my Dad's WWII it shaped him as a man...the net effect of the war.

I have in my possession copies of his bootcamp graduation class at Great Lakes in 1942 and then his Pharmacists Mate Graduation class (with the names of his classmates written on the back). His name was Donald M. Simon from Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

Does anyone know anything about my Dad?

Glenn W. Simon
