| Picture provided by CEM Frank Duzick, Sr., who enlisted in the Navy 3 April 1939, was assigned to the USS Mugford 12 Dec 1939, after "Boots" in Newport, R.I. and EM school in San Diego. He left the Mugford from Sydney, Australia, 9 April 1943, EM 1/c at the time. He returned to the States, commissioned the USS Lovering DE-39, spent a year on-board, returned to the States, and finished out his time as Instructor at Camp Perry, Virginia. He was released from the Armed Services 14 Sep 1945 as Chief Electrician's Mate. |

Putnam Blake Hi, I am a relative of the cristening family of the Mugford. My Father actively goes to the reunions and is involed in their group. I am sending you some pics of the cristening ax and champane bottle that are displayed in Abbot Hall in Marblehead Massachusetts. I myself am a caded at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in the marine engineering program.
